A brief history

Dudley and District Amateur Radio Society (DADARS) is the latest incarnation of a radio club which has a varied and colourful background.

Some time ago Dudley Amateur Radio Club (DARC) was formed and at its height a splinter group was formed which became Hillcrest Amateur Radio Society (HARS), which was based at Hillcrest Community School in Netherton. Following a forced eviction the club found itself at Summerhill School in Kingswinford. Once here the club changed its name to reflect the move and became Kingswinford and District Amateur Radio Society (KADARS).

After some time at Summerhill the club once again moved to its present home at "The Windmill". To reflect its move to what was a former DARC QTH and also due the to geographical location the present name was adopted, Dudley and District Amateur Radio Society.

Please note that DADARS is not connected with Dudley Amateur Radio Club (1961).
